This tool/add-on lets you check suspicious links and files for viruses, phishing and malware before visiting or opening them. WHY? I needed it for myself and now share it with everyone. HOW? The tool/plugin checks a manually entered link or website using various blacklists, the Google Safe Browsing API and the ClamAV virus scanner on our secure server. The website also lets you check a suspicious file using the ClamAV virus scanner and an interface to the virustotal.com API, which checks files by their hash value, not their contents. Privacy? - The add-on does NOT automatically check visited pages. - The add-on checks only when you ask it to. - All uploads and checks are transferred using SSL encryption. - No uploaded files are stored, except for the seconds needed to scan them. - No uploaded files are viewed or made available to third parties. - All in all, we respect your privacy!
