Do you remember the classic sounds of the old Internet Explorer when clicking a link, when a page finished loading, or when a download completed? This extension brings those sounds back and adds other events, such as typing in a text field or opening and closing a tab. WHAT IT DOES • Plays a sound when a page starts and finishes loading. • Plays a sound when a download starts, completes or fails. • Optional: sounds when typing on a website, opening or closing tabs, and when a page fails to load. • Works in Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers, such as Edge or Brave. MAKE IT YOURS • Turn each sound on or off separately. • Upload your own sounds (MP3, WAV, OGG… up to 500 KB each) and restore the original whenever you want. • Adjust the volume. • Choose whether navigation sounds play only in the tab you are viewing or in background tabs too. • Add sites where you don't want any sounds (for example, youtube.com). • Optional: sounds on websites that change pages without reloading, like YouTube or Gmail. ACCESSIBLE • The options page works fully with the keyboard and with screen readers. • Sounds tell you what is happening in the browser without looking at the screen. WELL-BEHAVED • Tabs you mute stay silent. • No burst of sounds when closing a window or starting Chrome. • Downloads you cancel don't sound like an error. WHERE IT DOESN'T PLAY Chrome doesn't allow any extension to run on its internal pages, so the typing sound doesn't play in: • the address bar, • Google's new tab page, • Chrome settings pages (chrome://…) and the Chrome Web Store, • the PDF viewer and other extensions' pages, • tabs that were already open when the extension was installed, until you reload them. Sound cards often enter power-saving mode after a period of inactivity. Since these sounds are very short, the first one may not be heard. PRIVACY It doesn't collect or send any data. Your settings and sounds are stored only in your browser.
