The GitHub Chinese localization extension translates interface text such as menus, buttons, headings and prompts on GitHub pages into Simplified Chinese, improving browsing and collaboration efficiency for Chinese users. Features ● Supports github.com, gist.github.com, education.github.com and www.githubstatus.com. ● Translates interface text such as menus, buttons, headings and prompts locally using a built-in dictionary and translation rules, without relying on an online translation service. ● Supports optional translation of English repository README content, with a configurable translation platform API or OpenAI-compatible API. ● Supports optional translation of Issue, Pull Request and Release discussions. Manually translate the body or individual comments and switch between original, translated and bilingual views. ● Supports incremental translation by section, gradually displaying translations of long README files and discussions to reduce waiting time. ● Supports translation history and reuse of the local cache to avoid repeated calls to translation APIs. ● Provides a master switch in the popup. After settings are changed, the current GitHub page automatically refreshes and the changes take effect immediately. Privacy and data ● By default, only local interface translation is performed, and page content is not uploaded automatically. ● Extension settings, including switch states, API configuration, cache and translation history, are stored only locally in the browser. ● No personal user data is collected or sold. ● The extension does not provide an intermediary server; users manage their own API keys and translation requests. ● Content is sent to the translation service you configure only when you actively enable translation of README content or Issue, Pull Request or Release discussions. Instructions ● After installing the extension, open a GitHub page to use local interface translation. ● To translate README or Issue, Pull Request or Release content, configure a translation API in the extension settings and enable the relevant feature.
