Description
A browser extension to select, search, save, and organize text while browsing
Staktekst helps you save text from the web and organize it with notes and tags. Use it to keep a record of language learning, reading, and research.
Features
- Save selected passages with their source page title and URL
- Annotate saved passages and write your own rich text notes
- Find items by keyword, tag, or type; pin items and organize them in bulk
- Highlight previously saved passages when you revisit a page
- Search selected text with your preferred search engines; add and reorder search providers
- Work in a popup or a full tab
- Export saved items as JSON, plain text, or Markdown, and restore items from JSON
- Recover unfinished editing drafts and undo or redo supported operations
- Japanese and English interfaces
Getting started
Select text on a web page and use the right-click menu to save it. To show the selection menu automatically, change Bubble Mode to Auto in Settings. New installations start in Manual mode.
Your data
Notes, saved passages, source URLs, and settings stay in your Chrome profile. No account is required. There is no cloud sync or usage analytics. When you run a search, the selected text is passed to the search website you choose. Export a JSON backup of important records. JSON backups contain saved items, but not settings or unfinished drafts.
What's new in 3.4.0
A refreshed interface and editing workflow, annotations, revisit highlights, bulk operations, Markdown export, and draft recovery. Updating the same extension migrates saved data and supported settings from the published 2.0.1 release. Confirm note edits with Save or Ctrl/Cmd+Enter.
