Description
梦想划词翻译 is a translation and word lookup tool developed for reading and learning foreign languages, aggregating dozens of online dictionaries and online translation services.
★★★ After more than three months of work, the first version is finally released ★★★
This is a carefully crafted, free and open-source selection translation extension ( https://github.com/ryanker/dream_translate ), and also an English pronunciation practice extension designed to help overcome "Chinese-style mute English".
★ Program Features ★
Considering the time cost of maintenance, this program is developed in pure native JavaScript, giving better performance and a smaller memory footprint, with no dependence on various tech stacks, which reduces bugs and the time invested in maintenance.
A self-designed lightweight translation and lookup dialog with a small memory footprint. It can be resized, moved, pinned, and made full screen, making it simple, convenient, and comfortable to use.
A large set of self-designed icon fonts with zero images, which not only reduces IO requests and lowers memory usage, but also reduces the program's business logic and maintenance costs.
The code is short and lean, without lots of flashy features, and without onion-like layers of code, so reading the source won't leave you completely baffled.
★ Shortcuts ★
Currently 6 shortcuts are supported; to make them easier to remember, 4 shortcuts are preset by default.
Toggle selection translation Ctrl+Shift+X (Frequently used. Often you don't need selection translation enabled, so just turn it off. It's like the "cut" shortcut. Memory tip: cut once to turn on, cut once to turn off, cut once on, cut once off.)
Open translation window Ctrl+Shift+9 (Fairly frequently used. This is a global shortcut: while using any software, you can summon the small translation window with it. Memory tip: 9 (jiu) sounds like "long-lasting" in Chinese, forever and ever.) (Firefox does not currently support global shortcuts)
Screenshot OCR translation Ctrl+Shift+A (Fairly frequently used. After capturing part of the page, it recognizes the image content and then translates it.)
Open translation panel Alt+D (Rarely used. Usually a mouse click is enough, but it's provided for people who like using shortcuts. Memory tip: the letter D is the first letter of Dream, may your dreams come true!)
Clipboard content translation (Must be enabled manually. Gets text from the clipboard and translates it.)
Stop playing sound (Must be enabled manually. Sometimes while audio is being read aloud you want to stop it; this shortcut quickly stops audio playback.)
Finally, if these shortcuts conflict with your computer's shortcuts, you'll just have to customize shortcuts that suit your own habits. ^_^
