A reading mode for taking in text at a glance “眺览”: A reading mode for taking in text at a glance Do you want to settle down and read articles carefully? Do you want to read faster? How can you escape the information bubble and enter a bigger world? ▷ Read faster: We studied how the human eye pays attention while reading and developed the 眺览 NLP engine. It predicts eye movement points in advance and uses highlighting to guide eye movements during the fixation–saccade–fixation process, reducing the time spent looking for the next point and enabling speed reading. To accommodate different visual preferences, we offer four marking colors and a font-weight highlighting method, with adjustable intensity. ▷ Distraction-free reading: Reading mode blocks content unrelated to the main text for a clean display. ▷ More comfortable reading: Themes are available for your screen during the day and at night. Four color schemes are currently offered: paper-like, pure white, mist gray and charcoal black. Font, font size, line spacing and line width can all be adjusted freely. ▷ Better typography: Punctuation compression and mixed Chinese-English text are handled more effectively. ▷ Easier access to reading: Enter reading mode by clicking the icon or using the context menu. You can even select text and open it separately through the context menu. ▷ Track your total reading: Find an automatic reading count in the achievements section. More badges will be added in future updates. ▷ Recommended articles and sites: Every week we post a list of lesser-known, interesting articles on our WeChat public account.
