Shows the corresponding Douban (douban.com) scores, star ratings, reviews, and other information for the current video or book on video playback and book detail pages. Shows Douban star ratings and descriptions on video and book listing pages. (Movies and TV shows currently support Tencent, Youku, Tudou, iQIYI, LeTV, Sohu, and Douban; books support Amazon, JD.com, Dangdang, Tmall, and Douban.) ## Development background I don't know if others have this problem, but I do. When browsing major video or book websites, I want to know an objective rating for the video I'm watching or the book I'm viewing, such as its Douban rating. So every time, I copy the title of the video or book into Douban and search for its score, star rating, reviews, and so on before deciding whether to continue watching or reading. This is repetitive and time-consuming, so why not automate the process? That is how this Chrome extension came about. ## Frequently asked questions: Q: Why are Douban ratings a little slow to appear the first time I open a video or book? A: When a user first visits the page, data is fetched from Douban in real time, which may cause a delay of 2-3 seconds. Q: Why does the Douban rating shown on the current page differ from the one I find on the Douban website? A: To maintain query speed, a caching mechanism updates Douban data every 5 days, so there may be some discrepancies in the meantime. Q: Why is there no Douban rating displayed to the right of the video or book I opened? A: First, make sure you have installed and enabled the latest version of the DoubanX extension. Also, some behind-the-scenes clips, trailers, compilations, and other videos are not listed on Douban, so no rating is displayed. Otherwise, unfortunately, it's my bug :-P Q: Why does the Douban rating link on the current page point to a different video or book from the one I'm viewing? A: Please report the bug to me and I will fix it as soon as possible.
