HOW TO PLAY
Here is a basic guide to playing 8 Ball Pool:
Objective: The main objective of 8 Ball Pool is to pocket all your balls (solids or stripes) and then the 8 ball to win the game.
Initial setup: At the start, the 15 balls (7 solids, 7 stripes and the 8 ball) are placed in a triangle at the end of the pool table. Each player must decide whether they want stripes or solids. The player who legally pockets the first ball determines their group.
Alternating turns: Players take turns hitting the balls with their cues. The aim is to pocket the balls in their group and then the 8 ball.
Opening break: The player who breaks the triangle shoots from behind the head string. Try to hit the balls with the right amount of force to scatter them and get a clear chance to pocket a ball.
Types of shots: You can strike the balls in different ways. You can hit a ball directly, hit a cushion to make a spin shot, or even make a combination shot by hitting one ball and then another.
Pocketed balls: If you pocket a ball in any pocket, you get another shot. If you pocket a ball from the opposing group, it becomes the other player's turn.
Fouls: Certain situations can result in a foul and give the opponent a free shot. Common fouls include failing to hit any ball, pocketing the cue ball, or pocketing the 8 ball too early.
8 ball: Once you have pocketed all the balls in your group (solids or stripes), you must pocket the 8 ball to win. Be careful not to pocket the 8 ball too early or commit a foul, as this will cause you to lose the game.
