Aprašas
Check whether your rights have been effectively exercised with the delisting assistance tool.
The right to delisting allows you to ask a search engine to remove certain search results associated with your first and last names. It involves removing the association between a search result and a query for your "first name last name".
A delisting request first requires checking whether the result to be delisted appears in search results. However, there can be a large number of results for a query, so checking can be tedious if the result appears only after many pages!
Furthermore, the order of results can vary according to many factors, such as your IP address, search history or browser. A search result's ranking can change over time, as can the results page on which it appears. Therefore, the fact that a result no longer appears on a given page does not necessarily mean that it has been delisted.
To help you check whether your rights have been effectively exercised, the CNIL laboratory team developed an extension for three browsers (Firefox, Chrome and Opera). It lets you determine whether a link appears among all the results returned by a search engine when you enter your name. The extension can therefore simplify the process by determining, among the available search engines, whether a result appears and whether it has been delisted following your request.
