Opis
Use declarativeNetRequest to remove tracking tags such as utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign from URLs.
Many websites use URL tags to track users by passing relevant information to websites through URLs. For example:
https://paypal.me/ashleymadison/1USD?utm_medium=sidebar_ad&utm_campaign=valentines_2008&utm_source=myspace&utm_term=meet-singles
As you might guess from the URL tags, this person clicked a sidebar ad on a MySpace page running a Valentine's Day advertisement, and the clicked keyword was "meet singles". PayPal now knows this information too.
This extension automatically removes these URL tags.
Remove utm_source, utm_medium, and other tracker tags from URLs so websites cannot track you. Unlike similar extensions that use the overly intrusive webRequest, this one uses declarativeNetRequest, which is better for your privacy and much faster.
The webRequest permission allows extension code to see the contents of URLs, meaning the extension can see the URLs you visit.
The declarativeNetRequest permission only allows the extension to describe how URLs should be changed and does not allow extension code to see URLs, meaning your privacy is protected.
This also means URL changes are performed by the browser rather than the extension, so the code runs faster and uses less memory.
