If a server cannot be reached, its scripts are blocked for five minutes to prevent websites from stalling. Some websites request scripts from third-party servers that cannot be reached because of firewall, DNS, SSL, or other issues. This causes the website to stop responding or freeze while it waits for the server. The only solution is to wait patiently for the request to time out before the website can open normally. This extension monitors these failed server requests. If any website tries to send another request to one of these servers, the request is skipped and blocked. This prevents the website from stalling again. The block lasts only five minutes, giving the server a chance to recover. Blocked requests can be viewed using the toolbar button, which shows which servers were blocked and for how long. The toolbar button appears only when a script is blocked. Note that this extension does not target anyone and has no blacklist or whitelist. Blocking occurs only when a server was previously unreachable, so the content would not have been displayed anyway.
