Go back with your middle mouse button.
Go back with your middle mouse button.
Middle-click on any empty spot of a web page to go back in your browsing history, no need to reach for the Back button.
Features:
- Middle-click on empty space goes back in the current tab.
- Optional: middle-click closes the tab when there is no page to go back to (never closes the last tab of a window). Enable it in the extension options.
- Normal middle-click behaviour is untouched: opening links in a new tab, closing tabs from the tab strip, and middle-click paste into text fields on Linux.
- Minimal permissions: only "storage" for your setting. No data is collected or sent anywhere.
Release Notes:
- Version 3.0: Fixed middle-click randomly stopping until the page was reloaded. Fixed the wrong tab going back when several windows were open. Fixed "close tab" option closing tabs that could still go back. Links nested deep inside other elements now open in a new tab as expected. Removed unneeded permissions.
- Version 2: Updated to Manifest V3.
- Version 1.8: Works on "tabless windows" too.
- Version 1.7: Optional behavior for middle-click to close the current tab.
- Version 1.6: Middle-click closes the current tab if no page to go back.
- Version 1.5: Now works on Windows.
- Version 1.3.1: Works inside frames; added icons.
