Типограф

The program is available for free at artlebedev.ru. There comes a time in every conscientious webmaster's life when they seriously consider screen typography. On the one hand, they want formatted text to look good in a browser window. This requires replacing inch marks with proper quotation marks («guillemets» and „low-high quotes“), removing extra spaces, replacing hyphens with dashes where needed, using non-breaking spaces to attach short conjunctions and prepositions to the words that follow, and performing a host of other operations. On the other hand, nobody wants to insert all these symbols, quotation marks, and non-breaking spaces by hand. Art. Lebedev Studio was the first on the internet to emphasize the importance of screen typography when laying out content. Since 2000, the text on all websites created by Art. Lebedev Studio has been formatted using the «Типограф» program.
