UiB Ordbok

UiB Ordbok from the University of Bergen (in cooperation with Språkrådet) shows the Bokmål and Nynorsk definition of a word in Norwegian. UiO ordbok is a Norwegian Bokmål to Bokmål and Nynorsk dictionary translated using University of Bergen (previously University of Oslo) ordbok resources. When you add this add-on to your Chrome browser, you get a right-click context menu for any selection (Norwegian word) that directs you to the definition on the UiB ordbok website. Using UiO ordbok, you can get all the meanings of a word and its different forms as a verb, adjective, or noun (singular, plural, definite or indefinite form, etc.). Nynorskordboka and Bokmålsordboka are compiled by lexicographers at the Department of Linguistics and Scandinavian Studies (ILN) at the University of Oslo, in cooperation with Språkrådet.
