Customize your VK news feed: hide posts by pattern and hide reposts; open the feed at the last post you read. This extension lets you customize your VK news feed. It was previously known as VK Spoilers and only allowed you to hide spoilers about a TV series you had not finished, a game you had not completed, or simply clear politics and other boring topics from your feed. After installation, an icon for configuring your feed will appear in the address bar when you visit the “My News” section of VK, as well as personal pages, group pages, public pages, event pages, and post search. The first setting, opening the feed at the last post read, is experimental. When you visit the news section, posts will load until the last one you read appears. This will not happen if that post was written more than three days ago. Currently, the last post is saved separately for each feed, although this may change. Next, you can choose which items in the left menu should lead to the news feed. By default, “My News” opens the general feed, but this can fill it with all kinds of community posts. Instead, you can open only friends' posts by default or create two separate items. In either case, you can switch the specific feed view using the tabs at the top of the page. Below is a list of post filtering rules. Each rule contains a pattern used to hide or remove posts and comments. Patterns are written approximately in this format: Grand Theft Auto, GTA, "GTA V" Different alternatives are separated by commas. A post and/or its comments will be hidden if all words in any alternative are found. Words are separated by spaces and are case-insensitive. To find an exact match, including word order and case, put the phrase in quotation marks. For those skilled in the secret kung fu of regular expressions, patterns can also be written in that format. There is also a special rule that removes all copies of posts (reposts) from the site, both from feeds and news, so you see only original content. You can hide only “bare reposts,” leaving those with an additional comment in the feed.
