Link protectors are pages that ask users to sign up for a paid service, usually related to mobile phones. Some only allow users to access the download after registering their phone. What does the extension do? The extension bypasses link protectors so users do not have to wait for a download to become available or sign up for a paid service. How can I use Link Unblocker? After installation, the Link Unblocker icon will appear next to your browser's address bar. When you are on a link-protection page, click the extension icon and you will be redirected to the download page. Is the extension free? YES. If you were charged for the extension, you were deceived. Which link protectors is Link Unblocker compatible with? The extension supports various types of link protectors, including complex encrypted ones and simpler ones that contain the download link in the address itself. To keep the extension effective, I am always looking for new link protectors and creating updates. If you find one that the extension does not support, leave a comment and I will investigate and create a fix as soon as possible. How will I be notified of a new update? When you try to unlock a link, if an update is available, you will be notified and redirected to the update download page. Why do I need to click the extension icon? Why doesn't the extension bypass link protectors automatically? Because of the wide variety of link protectors, the extension needs to run several scripts to bypass them. Running these scripts on every page a user visits could harm their experience on an ordinary site that is not a link protector. One alternative would be to run the scripts only on certain pages, but there are countless link protectors and new ones can appear at any time, which would limit the extension's effectiveness. By clicking the extension icon, you tell the extension that you are on a link-protection page and it runs the scripts. In other words, the extension only takes action when you want it to.
