HiTable: Instant Analysis of Web Page Table Data

HiTable is a powerful browser extension that lets you perform instant, in-place statistical calculations on HTML tables directly in your browser. Drag to select cells and see statistics appear on all four sides — no more copying tables into Excel for basic computations. === FEATURES === Table Support: • Standard HTML tables — including complex ones with merged cells (rowspan/colspan) • Nested tables — tables inside tables, automatically flattened into one unified grid • Div-based tables — CSS Grid / Flexbox layouts detected by class patterns and geometric analysis • ARIA grids — elements with role="grid" or role="table" detected via semantic markers 15 Statistics Algorithms (4 groups): • Basic: Count, Sum, Average, Minimum, Maximum, Range • Advanced: Median, Standard Deviation, Variance, Mode • Quantile: Q1 (25%), Q3 (75%), Interquartile Range • Distribution: Skewness, Kurtosis Conditional Formatting & Anomaly Detection: • Three-scope detection: across selection, within each column, within each row • Outlier values (>2× standard deviation) highlighted with slow pulsing animation • Hover to see the reason and scope of each anomaly • Toggle on/off in settings Data Integrity Checks: Six tests to spot potentially fabricated data: • Benford's Law — first-digit distribution analysis • Last Digit Analysis — detects uneven distributions (human bias) • Rounding Preference — flags excessive 0/5 endings • Duplicate Detection — unusually frequent values • Ratio Anomaly — near-constant cross-column ratios • Monotonic Sequence — over-linear sorted patterns These checks provide signals for review, not proof that data was fabricated. Number Format Recognition: • Currency symbols: $, €, £, ¥, ₹, ₽, HK$, NT$ • Romanian / European notation: 1.234,56 and 1 234,56, including RON, MDL and leu/lei before or after the number • Magnitude suffixes: K (×1,000), W/万 (×10,000), M (×1,000,000), 亿 (×100M), B (×1B) • Full-width digit normalization (１２３ → 123) • Statistical results retain the numeric format, currency position and magnitude suffix when consistent across a column or row • Choose the source number format in Config for ambiguous values such as 1,234 • No currency conversion is performed Built-in Demo & Help Pages: • 8 sample tables to try all features immediately • Multilingual interface and help, including Romanian === HOW TO USE === 1. Click the HiTable icon to activate (icon turns green) 2. Drag to select cells in any table 3. Statistics appear on four sides — click corners to cycle algorithms 4. Ctrl+C to copy cells; double-press to copy the entire overlay 5. Shift+click top-left to select entire table 6.
