Ostendo displays the accessibility compliance rate of French websites in your Bing and Google search results. In France, the RGAA (General Accessibility Improvement Framework) implements Article 47 of the 2005 disability law and its implementing decree, updated in 2019. Websites covered by the RGAA must have an accessibility statement on their site, with the compliance status visible on the home page. This status is based on an accessibility audit of the website. The "Ostendo - Accessibilité des sites français" extension retrieves this information declared by the website and highlights it directly in Bing and Google search results: - Full compliance, when all RGAA assessment criteria are met, is displayed as "Website digital accessibility: fully compliant" - Partial compliance, when at least 50% of RGAA assessment criteria are met, is displayed as "Website digital accessibility: partially compliant" - Non-compliance, when there are no valid audit results to measure compliance with the criteria or fewer than 50% of RGAA assessment criteria are met, is displayed as "Website digital accessibility: non-compliant" The extension currently allows users to: - Display the website's accessibility level - Sort the order of results on the page by accessibility level - Display its accessibility rate and a direct link to the website's accessibility statement - Display a link to the multi-year plan The extension has two goals: - Make the consideration given to digital accessibility in France more visible, so everyone becomes aware of the current problem of insufficient website accessibility. - Give people with disabilities information about a website's accessibility level before they visit it.
