The Carte Vitale® is a smart card containing all the administrative information needed to cover the healthcare costs of anyone affiliated with French health insurance. The Lecture Carte Vitale extension makes browser access to Carte Vitale data easier and more secure for healthcare professionals. Works on Windows and Mac - requires an additional module. Activation conditions ------------------------------------ Currently, the Vitale web extension is used only by the amelipro and webDMP PS sites. On any other site, the extension is inactive. This inactive state is represented by a greyed-out icon. The Vitale web extension will soon be usable on all sites that subscribe to the secure Vitale reading web service provided by GIE SESAM Vitale. Additional module --------------------------------------- The srvsvcnam application, version 5.07 or later, must be installed beforehand for the extension to work properly. The Vitale reading web extension only provides the link between the component installed on the healthcare professional's computer and the chosen browser, for maximum reading security. It is an essential component for securing Vitale data exchanges. By installing the Lecture Carte Vitale extension and the latest version of srvsvcnam, you enable websites to verify the card's authenticity and ensure complete confidentiality of the insured person's data.
