The official OMG! Ubuntu! extension
Stay up to date with Ubuntu, Linux and open-source news with the official OMG! Ubuntu extension for Google Chrome.
Click the toolbar button to see the 12 most recent posts from omgubuntu.co.uk, on the page you're viewing, in a clean popover, complete with thumbnails.
When a new post is published you'll receive a notification (which can be disabled). A badge on the toolbar icon shows the number of unread posts – pinning the extension to your toolbar is recommended so you always if there's something new to read.
Click an article to open it in a new tab.
Opening an article will mark it as read and the unread count will decrease.
Unread posts have an orange bookmark icon beside them; click it to mark an article as read without opening it, or use the "Mark all as read" link at the bottom of the popover to do just that.
If you are signed into Chrome your unread items will sync across your devices too.
