Vertical Tabs & Bookmarks puts everything you have open in one tidy list, and everything you have saved one click away. SIDE PANEL • Open as a popup or as a side panel that stays open while you work (left or right, as set in Chrome); in the panel, the tabs of a group get a soft tint of the group color • Keyboard shortcut (Alt+Shift+V by default, changeable) opens or hides the side panel from any page TABS • All tabs from all windows in one vertical list; the current window comes first • Instant search by title or address; save a search as a tag and reuse it with one click • Chrome tab groups with their colors: collapse or expand them, filter by group, move a tab to a group • Right-click a tab: reload, duplicate, pin, mute, move to a new window, close the others or the tabs below • Right-click a group or its chip: rename, change color, unload, save as a session, ungroup, close • Unload idle tabs to free memory, remove duplicates, see when a tab was last used • Hide a tab: the page is swapped for a placeholder, and its title and address disappear from the list and search until you unhide it • Closed a tab by mistake? For 20 seconds a small square appears at the bottom (up to two): press it and the tab returns to its window, group and place • The icon shows how many tabs are open BOOKMARKS AND HISTORY • Search and sort bookmarks; add a tab to bookmarks with one click • History by day: All time, Today, 7 days, 30 days; search, tags, delete entries; repeated visits to the same page are merged • Open a bookmark in a new or the current tab (your choice in Settings); Ctrl/⌘+click opens a background tab, Shift+click a new window SESSIONS • Save a window or selected tabs as a session, with groups, pinned tabs, a color and a note • Open it in a new window or the current one, or open a single group; a large session can open in the background and unload its tabs so the browser stays fast • Edit sessions, search inside them, export and import (JSON), copy as a list of links LOOK AND SETTINGS • Four themes: Light, Soft (a gentler light), Twilight (between light and dark) and Dark; Auto follows your system. Pick one in Settings by its color • The window fits its content: no empty space after a search • The site domain above each title, without http:// (can be turned off in Settings) • Settings page behind the gear in the top bar • Choose the colors of the tab counter on the toolbar icon: ready-made themes, or your own text and background • Theme, tags, domain display, counter colors and other small settings follow you to your other computers through Chrome sync (if it is on); sessions stay on this device • Keyboard control: ↑ ↓ and Enter in lists, Delete closes or removes the selected row; start typing to search • Interface language of your choice in Settings, whatever language the browser uses • Small conveniences: scroll a list by resting the pointer at its edge, remember or forget the last search PRIVACY Everything stays in your browser. No accounts, no servers, no analytics. Tags, sessions and settings are stored locally; theme, tags and a few settings are also synced by Chrome itself if you have sync on. The developer receives nothing.
