Description

Removes various forms of gender-inclusive language from webpages. “Gendering” (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gendern) is an ideologically driven change to the German language. It does not represent the natural development of a language. Although “gendering” is not particularly well thought out—after all, there are several ways to do it—it is being used more and more. The problem with “gendering” (besides its ideological background and the different variants) is also the readability of texts that have fallen victim to gender mania. This web extension searches for the most common variants and converts them as well as it can: - Gender asterisks - Colons - Underscores Examples: - Kund*innen -> Kunden - Kund:in -> Kunde - Kund_innen -> Kunden Because of the complexity of the German language, this web extension is not perfect at its task, but it is intended to be continually improved. Missing or incorrect conversions can be sent to the following email address, preferably with the complete sentence: [email protected] CHANGELOG: https://github.com/sternth/no-gender/blob/master/CHANGELOG.md v1.9 - The gendered term “ein:e” is recognized and replaced - The gendered term “Kunden*innen” is recognized and replaced
