Translate conveniently and read without worry. After installation or an update, please refresh the pages you want to translate! Edge Translate is a simple and practical translation extension that supports mainstream browsers including Chrome, Firefox, and 360 Secure Browser. We developed it primarily to help users read foreign-language literature. To that end, we have always put the reading experience first and made the following efforts: * We use the interface provided by Google Translate to translate words and sentences, ensuring a degree of accuracy in the results; * We support translation of selected text in PDF files, helping users overcome reading barriers when reading literature in PDF format. Due to a Firefox bug, this feature is not currently available in Firefox; * We display translation results in a relatively unobtrusive side panel. The panel pushes the content being read aside instead of covering it and interfering with reading; * We designed a simple, clear translation panel that highlights important content, keeping users focused on the results rather than unrelated elements such as the panel frame; * Frequent users can pin the panel to prevent it from repeatedly popping up and interrupting their reading; * We let users decide which parts of the translation results to display. For example, if you only want to know a word's meaning, you can choose to see only its common meanings. If you also want to learn how a word is used, we provide more detailed information, including pronunciation, definitions, explanations, and example sentences; * We provide a wide range of keyboard shortcuts to greatly improve efficiency. You can now use only the keyboard to translate selected words, open the lookup panel, and pin or unpin translation results; * We provide a useful blacklist feature. You can easily add the page you are viewing to the blacklist to disable selection and double-click translation on that page, or remove it from the blacklist to re-enable those features. * We support webpage translation, allowing you to translate an entire webpage directly into the language you need. You can freely choose between Youdao webpage translation and Google webpage translation to meet your needs. Edge Translate owes its existence to the open-source community. During development, we used Mozilla's open-source pdf.js as the built-in PDF reader to support translation of selected text in PDF files; when we encountered difficulties, we also consulted crimx's ( https://github.com/crimx ) saladict ( https://github.com/crimx/ext-saladict ) for solutions. We also used excellent open-source tools such as gulp and webpack to assist development, and we thank everyone involved. We also thank the users who have used Edge Translate since version 0.2.0 and provided feedback.
